Search for "puzzle game no ads" and you mostly find games with fewer ads, or games selling the absence of ads back to you as a subscription. Block 89 version 2.0 goes the other way: no ads, no in-app purchases, no subscriptions, no tracking, no internet required. That is the complete list of what is not in the box.

Why free, then?

Because it started as one and stayed one: a maker's game. Block 89 was written in 2011 for the love of the old handheld brick games, and the 2026 rebuild is the same love with fifteen more years of craft. The maker's bigger games, like Snake '97, carry the business; Block 89 gets to be exactly what it wants to be. A game.

Offline means offline

The apps never phone home. Aeroplane mode, a cabin in the woods, the metro under the river: everything works, because everything happens on your device. Your high score, your paused session, your replays: all local. The privacy page is refreshingly short because there is nothing to disclose.
